Isao Saito, JF1DHM, has put together a clever portable dipole or loop antenna using a pair of one dollar 5 meter tape measures, and three bamboo poles from the same "dollar store."
Each tape is drilled every 5cm. The tape is extended to the desired length, and the nearest hole dropped over an exposed bolt that connects to the center insulator. The spring tension of the reels holds the tape in place. The tapes are clamped to the bamboo poles with large stationery clips, either horizontally with two poles, or in a loop configuration using three.
